Website Design
Your website is your hardest-working salesperson. Cloud9 designs and builds fast, accessible, search-ready websites that explain what you do clearly and turn visitors into enquiries.
A business website has one job: turn the right visitors into customers. Professional web design is the work of making that happen. It means a clear structure, persuasive content, a design that reflects your brand, and a build that is fast, accessible and easy for search engines to understand.
Cloud9 designs and builds websites for businesses across Canada and the United States. We work remotely as standard, so you get the same team and the same process wherever you are, and 23+ years of experience behind every project.

What professional web design includes
- Goals and audience: what the site must achieve and who it is for.
- Structure: a sitemap and page hierarchy built around how customers look for you.
- UX and wireframes: layouts that guide visitors to the next step.
- Visual design: a look that fits your brand and works on every screen.
- Content: page copy, headings and calls to action written to convert and to rank.
- Development: a fast, secure build on WordPress or custom code.
- SEO foundations: titles, headings, structure, speed and structured data from day one.
- Accessibility: readable text, sensible contrast and keyboard-friendly navigation.
Web design is not only how it looks
A beautiful site that nobody finds, or that visitors cannot use, is a poor investment. The choices that decide results are mostly invisible: how clearly the homepage says what you do, whether each service has its own page, how quickly pages load on a phone, and how easy it is to call or request a quote.
That is why we start with your customers and your goals, then design the structure and message before choosing colours and imagery.
Built for search from the first sketch
Redesigning a site and then bolting SEO on afterwards is how rankings get lost. We plan search into the design: one page per important service, descriptive titles and headings, a logical internal-link structure, fast pages and clean code. If you are replacing an existing site, we map every old address to its new one so the visibility you have already earned is protected.
Our SEO services work hand in hand with design, and our on-page SEO checklist shows what we check on every page.
Design decisions that affect results
- Mobile first: most visits happen on phones, so we design the small screen first.
- Speed: heavy images and scripts cost enquiries, so performance is part of the design.
- Clear calls to action: one obvious next step on every page.
- Proof: real projects, reviews and credentials placed where people decide.
- Accessible by default: text people can read and a site everyone can use.
Which kind of website do you need?
A small business site (up to about eight pages) is usually a focused brochure with clear services and a contact route. A service business that serves several areas needs a page per service and genuinely useful local pages. A shop needs product, category and checkout design; see our e-commerce web design service. If you already have a site that is tired or under-performing, a website redesign is often the fastest fix, and our website redesign checklist shows how to plan one.

How long does a web design project take?
A standard business website typically takes six to twelve weeks, depending on scope and how quickly content and feedback arrive. Larger sites and stores take longer. We agree a timeline with milestones at the start.
How much does web design cost?
It depends on the number of pages, the amount of custom design, functionality and content. Our website cost guide explains what drives the price, and a quote request gets you a tailored estimate.
Do you work with businesses outside Vancouver?
Yes. Cloud9 works with clients across Canada and the United States, and we run projects by video, phone and shared documents.
Will I own my website?
Yes. On completion you receive the design files, code and documentation, unless your agreement says otherwise. Ownership is agreed in writing before work starts.
Can you redesign my existing website without hurting my SEO?
Yes. We record your current rankings and pages, keep addresses where we can, redirect any that change and monitor search performance after launch.
Should we choose WordPress or a custom build?
It depends on who will edit the site and what it must do. We recommend whichever fits and explain the trade-offs; our guide to WordPress versus custom development covers the decision.
